The Marinette County Sheriff Auxiliary (MCSA) was established in 1986 as a volunteer group to support the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies. The Auxiliary has a charter member force of 14 members made up of the men and women of Marinette and neighboring Counties.
Our officers are certified in a basic course of training on OC (Pepper Spray) and Defense and Arrest Tactics. The training will be provided by fully qualified, state certified instructors of the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office.
Auxiliary officers are now eligible to Ride Along with the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office deputies and other law enforcement agencies in Marinette County. You will then, under the direction of the sworn law enforcement officer, serve as an extra set of eyes, ears and hands. Riding is a privilege for the Auxiliary officers, not a requirement.
The qualifications to be accepted into the Auxiliary are:
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be a resident of Marinette or neighboring County.
- Submit to a thorough background check.
- Not have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor offense.
- Have a valid driver license.
- Have a basic physical examination, including drug screening, at his/her expense.
- Not be employed as a law enforcement or correction officer.
- Be willing to serve a minimum of 20 hours per year.
Our officers have a strong commitment to the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, as well as other law enforcement agencies and our community.
Because of this commitment, the MCSA has received positive recognition in different communities throughout Marinette County. This is something our members can be proud of.
